A short recap from Nick Venuti after teaching three sessions at Sedona Yoga Festival in April 2026, with notes on movement, clear coaching, and community.

In April 2026, I taught three sessions at Sedona Yoga Festival. The room was new. The work was familiar.

I led Reset Flow for Posture: Preventing the Desk Body, Harnessing Energy and Movement to Transform the Self, and The Missing Piece in Yoga: Internal Rotation & SI Joint Health. Different session titles. One question underneath all of them: what does your body need to do before you ask more from it?

Start with the pattern in front of you

I did not want people leaving with a list of exercises they felt they had to force into their routine. I wanted them to leave with a better way to notice what was happening.

Before more stretch, intensity, or load, look at the movement in front of you. What is doing its share? What is working around it? Where does the position change when the body runs out of options?

That applies to a yoga practice, a banded exercise, a walk up stairs, or a strength session. The starting point changes from person to person. The goal is not to chase a perfect position. It is to make the next choice useful.

Clear coaching travels

A festival room brings together people with different histories, different training backgrounds, and different reasons for being there. That makes clear cues matter.

A cue has to be simple enough to use right away. A progression has to leave room for the person in front of you. The work does not need to look complicated to be specific.

That is the standard I bring back to every room I teach in. Give people something they can feel. Give them a way to adjust. Then let them build from there.

What stayed with me

My own ankle recovery is part of why I care about that order. It did not give me a shortcut. It made the need for a clear starting point more personal.

The same approach is still the work in Pittsburgh and online: look at the whole pattern, choose a useful starting point, then build strength you can keep.
